The Role:
We are seeking a thoughtful and motivated Associate Attorney with no more than three years of experience to join our growing practice. This is an ideal role for an attorney who is deeply committed to helping individuals and families navigate meaningful legal transitions – including family law matters, adoptions, and foundational estate planning.
Our ideal candidate understands that excellent legal representation goes beyond filings and court appearances. It requires patience, education, and a willingness to guide clients through complex processes with clarity and care.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of family law matters, including divorce, custody, parent-time, and support
- Assist with and independently handle adoption matters and related proceedings
- Draft estate planning documents, including wills, powers of attorney, and related instruments
- Educate clients at every stage of their case so they understand the process, options, and expectations
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and negotiations
- Maintain consistent, compassionate communication with clients
- Collaborate closely with firm leadership, legal assistants, and support staff
- Maintain accurate timekeeping and organized case documentation
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active Utah State Bar license in good standing
- No more than three years of legal practice experience
- Demonstrated interest in family law, adoptions, and estate planning
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- A client-centered mindset with a commitment to education and transparency
- Professional judgment, integrity, and strong work ethic
- Willingness to take initiative and do what it takes to serve clients well
