Divorce Attorney Utah, Family Law, Stacey Schmidt is the founder of the Schmidt Law Firm. She earned both her Bachelors’ Degree and Juris Doctorate Law Degree from Brigham Young University. She has been practicing law in Utah for 26 years.
Her legal career started with a non-profit law firm, as a litigator and then the managing attorney over cases specializing in representing victims of domestic violence situations.
After leaving the non-profit law firm, Stacey embarked upon private practice partnering and owning her law practices where she continues to help victims of domestic violence. Stacey has a significant amount of experience litigating cases in the areas of family/domestic law, estate planning, criminal and public interest law.
Stacey has served on the following: the Utah County Food & Care Coalition, Board of Directors; as a Member of Utah Domestic Violence Counsel; Member of the Utah State Bar Family Law Executive Committee; Utah State Bar Continuing Legal Education Committee; Member of the Utah Family Law Journal Committee; Brighton High School Lacrosse Board and has been and continues to serve as a Pro Bono Lawyer for the Davis County Domestic Violence Project.
Stacey loves spending time with her family, her Australian Shepherd dogs, enjoying the outdoors and being an empty nester and traveling with her husband. In her next life she wants to be a computer programmer instead of a lawyer. Originally from Alberta, Canada she has a rich native heritage and legal background. Her great-grandfather was the first Native Senator in Canada and her Father was a Professional Cowboy and retired lawyer in Canada.
